A Refrigerator Caused Water Damage in a Foster Island Kitchen
The plastic supply line to the ice-maker split on this Foster Island home refrigerator. The volume of water was large enough to seep between the laminated floorboards and the plywood subfloor. Our SERVPRO crew arrived promptly, within the hour, to remove the pooling water and begin the restoration. Some planks were ruined by the wicking water and were taken off the floor. This was also needed to ensure the subfloor and the supporting floor joists in this crawlspace home were dried to standard moisture content levels. Why have to deal with mold after a small water loss? Count on our team to minimize deconstruction to get this kitchen to a dry state quickly. After spraying an antimicrobial agent to inhibit mold growth, the installation of new flooring can be done. Remember to call SERVPRO for water damage cleanup and mitigation.
